Dr. Majid-ul-Ghafar is one of the pioneer faculty members of the Department of Communication & Media Studies, Hazara University. He joined the Department on Nov. 23, 2006. He did MSc. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Gomal University D.I. Khan in 2005 and earned his MPhil in Mass Communication from Islamia University Bahawalpur in 2010. Dr. Majid completed his PhD from Islamia University Bahawalpur in 2017. He is Examination Coordinator (internal) since 2010 to 2021 and looking after all the affairs of the Department examinations of BS, MSc. and M.Phil. He is well versed in Radio and TV journalism and received practical trainings from international organizations. He worked with Internews Network Pakistan from 2010 to 2017 and participated in different trainings of Radio and TV. He worked with William John Rowen Reid Producer/international trainer Australian Broadcast Corporation (ABC) from 2010 to 2016 participated in different training of the trainers’ programs arranged by Internews network Pakistan for faculty development program. Dr. Majid also worked with Horea Salajan Producer/International trainer British Broadcast Corporation (BBC) from2012 to 2017 and participated in different TV Journalism trainings. Apart from teaching Dr. Majid has the additional responsibilities as Station Director Campus TV and Campus Radio. He is a lead trainer of Radio and TV. Dr. Majid has extensively travelled both in and outside Pakistan and visited many media organization including voice of America, Al-Jazeera TV, CNBC, China TV etc. He also visited different universities of United States of America including George Washington University, Maryland University, Washington State University and American University. Dr. Majid has supervised 9 MPhil scholars. His research interest area is war reporting, conflict reporting and peace journalism. Dr. Majid Ul Ghafar has more than 20 Research publication both national and international Research Journals. He worked with different national and international scholars and attended international and national conferences. Dr. Majid visited Bangkok to attend the 4th world conference Media and Mass Communication as presenter and received medal as best session presenter, the conference was organized by Technology Institute of International Knowledge Management (TIIKM) held in April 2018. Dr. Majid Ul Ghafar is a member of the scientific committee in international organizations who organized different international conferences related to media studies. He is also working as external examiner of PhD and MPhil in different universities of Pakistan. He is serving with different national journals as article reviewer since 2020.
